I've been wanting to make one of these since we moved in.
We have a coat closet, but it's down the hall, and when we come in through the garage, it doesn't make sense to wander through the house just to hang up your coat. I'd rather just go without. This way the kids can be responsible for their own jackets.
I inherited a few old fence slats from a friend in my ward, so I sanded one down, spray painted, sanded some more, bought some jute from the craft store, and got the hooks at Home Depot. I dare say it turned out cuter than I thought! Here's to happier moments getting out of the house!
